We’re working with an established specialist lending firm in Central London that is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Underwriter to join their growing team.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in commercial or specialist lending who enjoys working on varied, complex cases within a high-quality underwriting environment.
The role You’ll be responsible for underwriting commercial lending applications from end to end, assessing risk and providing well-reasoned credit decisions. Working closely with brokers and internal stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in supporting deal flow while maintaining robust credit standards.
Key responsibilities

• Underwrite commercial lending applications from initial assessment to decision
• Analyse financials, security, and overall credit risk
• Provide clear, well-documented underwriting rationales
• Work collaboratively with brokers, sales, and internal teams
• Manage a pipeline of cases in line with service level expectations

About you

• Proven experience in commercial or specialist lending underwriting
• Strong understanding of credit risk and commercial property finance
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
• Confident communicator with brokers and internal stakeholders
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, office-based environment
