Job Title: Insurance Compliance Manager
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne (Hybrid)
Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 (DOE)

We are seeking a highly motivated Insurance Compliance Manager to lead the regulatory oversight and ensure the highest standards of ethical conduct for our client.

You will also be responsible for maintaining the compliance framework, providing expert guidance on FCA and PRA regulations, and fostering a robust compliance culture across the client’s business.

What you’ll be doing:

• Regulatory Oversight: Develop and maintain the Compliance Management System (CMS) and internal risk frameworks
• Policy Management: Create and update policies to ensure adherence to FCA Handbook rules, including Consumer Duty, ICOBS, and GDPR
• Compliance Monitoring: Lead a team in conducting regular reviews and thematic audits to detect and address non-compliance early
• Financial Crime Prevention: Oversee anti-money laundering (AML), sanctions screening, and anti-bribery (ABC) frameworks
• Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for regulators and assist senior management with regulatory reporting and board updates
• Training & Culture: Deliver compliance training to staff, ensuring the business stays informed of the latest regulatory horizon changes

To succeed in the role you’ll be or have:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a compliance role within the insurance or financial services sector
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of FCA/PRA expectations and the broader UK regulatory environment
• Leadership: Proven ability to manage and coach a compliance team
• Qualifications: CII or ICA qualifications are highly desirable (e.g., Cert CII or Level 4 Diploma)Communication: Exceptional written and verbal skills, with the ability to explain complex regulations in a digestible way for non-experts
